Lakeshore Elementary

Lakeshore Elementary is home to the district’s only elementary Spanish Immersion program, hosts the W.O.W. (West Ottawa Wonders) Preschool for children ages three and four, as well as the YMCA Child Care program which provides before school, after school, and all day child care. Lakeshore also provides extended learning opportunities through advanced math placement courses as well as many after-school club opportunities. MeetMr. Follett

Scott Follett was hired as principal of Lakeshore Elementary in the spring of 2022 after spending the previous 8 years as a 3rd grade teacher within the building. The Hope College graduate has been part of the West Ottawa family since 1999, serving as an elementary teacher at various grade levels. Scott loves the opportunity to build relationships with the students and their families, as well as being a support for his staff.

Lakeshore met and exceeded our expectations at every turn. The staff is highly qualified and deeply cares about every student and family. We have always been encouraged to participate in our children's education and kept informed of needs, concerns, and achievements. The PTO is active and always seeking to improve Lakeshore for staff and students by providing funds and resources that are beyond the WO budget.
