I became a part of West Ottawa Public Schools in 1999. Over the course of 24 years, I took on roles as a teacher and principal. Initially, I taught 8th grade Social Studies at Macatawa Bay Middle School for six years, and then I continued in that role for another five years at Harbor Lights Middle School. After completing my Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Grand Valley State University, I moved into a leadership position. For the past 13 years, I’ve been working as a principal in the district. Throughout this time, I’ve been impressed by the dedication of the West Ottawa staff, who consistently go the extra mile to support their students.

I’m now thrilled to serve as the principal at North Holland Elementary School. I consider it a privilege to be a part of a community that’s devoted to meeting the diverse needs of all students in a safe and nurturing setting. As the principal of North Holland, my focus will be on assisting our families and staff as they collaborate to provide exceptional opportunities for our students. The outcome of this partnership will be a school where everyone feels valued, treated with respect, and enthusiastic about giving their best effort each day. I strongly believe that for our collaboration to succeed, maintaining open channels of communication is crucial. Therefore, I will maintain an open door policy and be available to discuss any ideas you may have in regards to the continued success of North Holland.
