Lakeshore Elementary

In partnership with the Outdoor Discovery Center, Lakeshore emphasizes outdoor learning experiences that connect students to nature and support hands-on exploration. Lakeshore Elementary is proud to offer a wide range of learning opportunities that support the whole child. Home to the W.O.W. (West Ottawa Wonders) Preschool for children ages three and four, Lakeshore also hosts the YMCA Child Care program, which provides before-school, after-school, and full-day care. The school also offers extended learning opportunities through advanced math placement and a variety of after-school clubs. MeetMr. Follett

Scott Follett was hired as principal of Lakeshore Elementary in the spring of 2022 after spending the previous 8 years as a 3rd grade teacher within the building. The Hope College graduate has been part of the West Ottawa family since 1999, serving as an elementary teacher at various grade levels. Scott loves the opportunity to build relationships with the students and their families, as well as being a support for his staff.

Lakeshore met and exceeded our expectations at every turn. The staff is highly qualified and deeply cares about every student and family. We have always been encouraged to participate in our children's education and kept informed of needs, concerns, and achievements. The PTO is active and always seeking to improve Lakeshore for staff and students by providing funds and resources that are beyond the WO budget.
