Welcome to Great Lakes Elementary!

Great Lakes Elementary is located on the corner of Riley Street and 152nd Avenue, a few miles from the beautiful shores of Lake Michigan and adjacent from West Ottawa’s world class high school campus. Great Lakes is the newest of West Ottawa’s nine elementary schools and the staff at Great Lakes prides itself on preparing students to be College, Career, and Life Ready. The 550 plus students that call Great Lakes home are one of the many reasons Great Lakes is a school of choice for many families in the Holland/Zeeland area.

Great Lakes has extremely dedicated, talented, and driven staff members who believe that our students will become 21st century leaders and problem solvers. At Great Lakes we pride ourselves on our ability to create a school where continuous improvement and the desire to be better is the norm. We work to develop a learner profile in our students that includes: communicator, principled, knowledgeable, caring, reflective, and thinker. We strive to make everything we do in our classrooms connect with our community. This helps our learners construct meaning and think more critically. We also encourage our students to take action in their lives to help create a better, more peaceful world.
