Lakeshore Elementary School is located on 168^th Avenue between Riley and Quincy Streets. Our building is one block away from the sandy shores of Lake Michigan. Lakeshore Elementary has about 220 K-5^th grade students. The building also houses GSRP Preschool programs, as well as the YMCA Child Care program which provides before school, after school, and all day child care.

In partnership with the Outdoor Discovery Center, Lakeshore emphasizes outdoor learning experiences that connect all students to nature and support hands-on exploration.  This includes Outdoor Kindergarten for all families who attend our school.  Our outdoor education focus gives our students the chance to explore, discover, and grow through hands-on experiences in nature.  From nature walks and outdoor classrooms to creative exploration and teamwork, students develop social, emotional, and problem-solving skills while staying active and engaged. At Lakeshore Elementary, we believe the outdoors is a powerful classroom where children learn best by doing, observing, and experiencing the world around them.
