WOPSPreschool
It is the mission of the West Ottawa Public Schools to facilitate the quality preschool needs of the children and families we serve by implementing a safe, consistent learning environment, which enables intellectual, social, and physical growth for present and future students.
Great Start Readiness Program (GSRP)
GSRP is a state-funded program that provides free preschool to families that qualify and are accepted into the program. A child in the GSRP program will have experiences in initiative, social relations, creative representation, music, movement, language and literacy, and hands-on mathematics.
Children meet for full-day sessions Monday through Thursday during the program year (September – May).
The GSRP program is still accepting applications for the 24-25 school year
Seats are still available at Lakewood and Sheldon Woods Elementary schools for the current school year. There is a waitlist for Pine Creek and Great Lakes Elementary School programs. Students that are four by December 1, 2024 currently qualify.
To enroll: Apply online at www.helpmegrowottawa.org.
Once your application is complete, a West Ottawa staff member will reach out to you to continue the enrollment process.
We are happy to announce that for the 25-26 school year, our GSRP will be expanding and offered at five district elementary schools:
- Great Lakes
- Lakewood
- Los Lagos (New!)
- Pine Creek
- Woodside (New!)
For the upcoming year, you may want to consider sending your child to GSRP if:
- Your child is 4 by September 1, 2025.
- Your child resides in Ottawa County
- Proof of income is required for enrollment prioritization
To enroll: Apply online at www.helpmegrowottawa.org.
Once your application is complete, a West Ottawa staff member will reach out to you to continue the enrollment process.
