It is the mission of the West Ottawa Public Schools to facilitate the quality preschool needs of the children and families we serve by implementing a safe, consistent learning environment, which enables intellectual, social, and physical growth for present.
Great Start Readiness Program (GSRP)
Michigan’s GSRP Preschool program is ranked #1 nationally and is FREE PreK for ALL! You may want to consider sending your child to GSRP for the 2026-27 school year if:
- Your child is 4 by December 1, 2026.
- Required Enrollment Documents are provided, including Proof of income for enrollment prioritization
A child in the GSRP program will have experiences in initiative, social relations, creative representation, music, movement, language and literacy, and hands-on mathematics. Our Creative Curriculum focuses on learning through play and integrates social-emotional and academic skills taught by Michigan-certified teachers.
West Ottawa’s GSRP Preschool offers full day and half day program options at select locations September to May. Full day sessions includes breakfast, lunch, nap, snack and outdoor play. Preschool is Parent Transport. Enrollment documentation required.
GSRP is now enrolling for the 2025-26 school year at the following locations:
- Great Lakes Elementary
- Full Day Programming: 8:30am – 3:30pm
- Lakeshore Elementary
- Full Day Programming: 8:30am – 3:30pm
- Half Day Programming: 8:30am – 11:30am and 12:30pm – 3:30pm
- Tuition-Based wrap-around care and Friday childcare available through the YMCA
- Outdoor Discovery Learning Opportunities
- Los Lagos Bilingual Academy
- Full Day Programming: 8:30am – 3:30pm
- Pine Creek Elementary
- Full Day Programming: 8:30am – 3:30pm
- Riley Farms Elementary
- Full Day Programming: 8:30am – 3:30pm
- Outdoor Discovery Learning Opportunities
- Woodside Elementary
- Full Day Programming: 8:30am – 3:30pm

West Ottawa Wonders (W.O.W.) Preschool Program
W.O.W. Preschool will be discontinued at the conclusion of the 2025–2026 school year. To ensure families continue to have access to high-quality early childhood education, we have expanded our other preschool offerings to meet the needs of our community.
West Ottawa Wonders (W.O.W.) Preschool serves students ages 3-5. Located in Lakeshore Elementary, this non co-op preschool offers morning or afternoon classes. Running from September through May, the preschool addresses all areas of development including social, emotional, intellectual, and physical. Areas of emphasis include aesthetics, construction, language, fine motor, gross motor, pretend play, sensory, cognition, and social interaction.
2025-26 WOW Preschool Enrollment
The following form will be made available to interested WOW parents to express their interest in the program.
In addition to filling out the form, parents should also print and return the attached packet by submitting either a clean scan of their copies, or by dropping copies to the Lakeshore Elementary office.
