International Baccalaureate

West Ottawa High School is proud to offer the prestigious International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme—an internationally recognized educational experience respected by top colleges and universities around the globe.

Designed for juniors and seniors, the IB Diploma Programme challenges students to grow both academically and personally. Participants engage in rigorous coursework across six subject areas while also completing the program’s core components: Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS); Theory of Knowledge (TOK); and the Extended Essay.

Through this comprehensive and globally focused curriculum, IB students develop a deep and broad understanding of the world, preparing them to thrive beyond high school – making them College, Career, and Life Ready!

The IB program makes West Ottawa incredibly unique. The teachers were understanding and helped provide me with the best resources possible. The struggle I felt in the program prepared me for what I would endure during college and ultimately life. The program also helped me realize my life’s passion and helped me get into one of the best engineering programs in the nation.

I feel so fortunate that my children have been able to take advantage of IB & AP classes, Spanish Immersion and Dual Enrollment via Hope College. These opportunities offered by West Ottawa have been extremely beneficial in terms of learning and growth. They have also proven to be great stepping-stones towards graduation and priceless when applying to colleges. Additionally, earning their Seals of Bi-Literacy and traveling to Spain are offerings from WO that I never could have imagined for my kids. I am thankful to West Ottawa for providing so many opportunities to their students. As a proud public school parent, I can't recommend these programs enough!
