Advanced Placement (AP)

West Ottawa High School offers 20 AP courses. The courses are open to any student, however, it is strongly suggested that students meet with their teachers and counselor before deciding to take a course. The suggested guidelines include a GPA of 3.0 and a commitment to extra study time above and beyond the regular courses. Students in AP courses push themselves academically, enjoy problem solving and are prepared to put in the extra study hours needed to be successful in the course. AP courses are designed to challenge students and prepare them well for the rigors of college work.

The WOHS course guide contains a list of the AP courses offered at WOHS, as well as a description of each course, the testing schedule, and a printable a letter of intent for those students who are ready to commit to taking advanced placement courses.

Look for more information about the benefits of advanced placement classes on the College Board website.
