Role of the Counselor
West Ottawa's counselors assist each student with curriculum planning, researching and setting career goals, and college options. Counselors respond to student needs and support students so they can experience academic success.
What can my counselor do for me?
Your counselor can assist you with setting academic goals, exploring career options, and researching colleges. They can also assist with personal problems, social adjustments, or any other current concerns a student may have.

When should I see my counselor?
Your counselor is a valuable resource throughout your four years of high school. They can assist you with course selection, career and college planning, and connecting with financial aid for future education.
You can meet with your counselor if you have a problem, question, or just need to talk to someone you can trust. Make an appointment to get acquainted with your counselor or drop by before school, at lunch, after school to see them.
