Career Preparation Programs

We welcome you to the Career Preparation Programs of West Ottawa!

Each year, many West Ottawa High School students go to local businesses and agencies for internships, work experiences (paid and unpaid),  and job shadowing experiences. Others come to the Career Offices for job seeking skills and assistance in finding jobs and resume writing help.  We welcome you to stop in the guidance office at the north or south building at any time to visit with us to find out more about our programs!

Teacher Candidate Program

Seniors anticipating entry into elementary or secondary education have the opportunity to work in the classroom setting assisting a teacher.  Students have a class component and report to their work site every week.  They are required to produce classroom appropriate activities and a final project.  The Teacher Candidate class is offered during sixth hour each semester.  Learn more about the Teacher Candidate ProgramApplication for the Teacher Candidate Program.
