Dear Friends:

As an important member of the West Ottawa Public Schools community, the District is seeking your input regarding the long-term facilities plan for the District.

A community group will be asked to help determine the priorities for the District, the result of which could be a five-year extension of the long-term plan.  The District’s goal is to fulfill these needs without a millage increase.

While there is still $45 million worth of work to do in the second phase of the 2014 bond, the District knew at the time the 2014 bond alone would not be enough to meet long-term facility needs.

Committee meetings are scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on September 24, October 8, October 22 and November 5 at West Ottawa High School’s South Campus, 3600 N. 152nd Avenue.  At these meetings, we will:

  • Share results of an EPIC-MRA phone survey
  • Discuss facility needs and priorities
  • Review conceptual designs
  • Explain the finances
